Our Story<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Marine Conservation Myanmar was founded in 2018 with a vision to protect, restore, and conserve Myanmar's coral reefs and marine ecosystems.<\/strong>

Since its establishment, the organization has promoted marine conservation through scientific reef monitoring, coral restoration, marine education, and community participation.

In 2026, Marine Conservation Myanmar relaunched its pilot coral nursery and reef restoration program in Ngwe Saung, marking a new chapter in restoring Myanmar's coral reefs through science-based conservation.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Bryan Alexander is an American attorney and dive professional who has called Myanmar home since 2015. As Chairman of the Board of Marine Conservation Myanmar, he provides governance and strategic oversight, working with CEO Georgie Aung to advance the organization's mission. Bryan is the owner of Myanmar Diving Academy, where he works to expand access to safe, responsible diving in Myanmar's waters. He is an Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer and a PADI Divemaster and DSD Leader, with years of firsthand experience in the marine environments the organization works to protect. Beyond the water, Bryan directs all offshore international operations for Dauntless Discovery International, a US-owned legal process outsourcing firm, and is a former Vice President of AMCHAM Myanmar. He holds degrees in Biology and Finance from the University of South Carolina Honors College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School \u2014 a combination of scientific training, legal expertise, and business acumen that shapes his contribution to Marine Conservation Myanmar's board.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

Nyan Linn Aung, professionally known as Georgie Aung, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Marine Conservation Myanmar, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring Myanmar's coral reefs through science-based conservation, reef restoration, marine education, and community engagement.He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Mandalay University and is a PADI Master Instructor with extensive professional diving experience in Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Maldives. Over the course of his diving career, he has worked in dive operations, delivered underwater training, conducted reef monitoring, and coral restoration, developing practical expertise across some of Southeast Asia's most diverse marine ecosystems.Inspired by a vision to establish sustainable, long-term coral conservation programmes in Myanmar, Georgie founded Marine Conservation Myanmar to advance scientific reef monitoring, coral restoration, and community-based marine conservation. Under his leadership, the organization is developing practical and cost-effective restoration methods while fostering partnerships with local communities, dive professionals, universities, researchers, government stakeholders, and international conservation organizations.Georgie is committed to strengthening marine conservation in Myanmar by integrating scientific research, practical field experience, capacity building, and public awareness. Through collaborative partnerships and evidence-based conservation, he aims to protect and restore Myanmar's coral reefs for future generations while promoting sustainable management of the country's marine ecosystems.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n
