The Metal Frame Rope Nursery is a suspended coral nursery system designed to improve water circulation, reduce sediment accumulation, and provide a stable structure for coral fragment growth.

Build the Metal Frame

Construct a galvanized steel frame and secure it with six concrete foundation blocks. The frame provides a stable support structure while allowing good water circulation around the coral nursery.

Install the Rope Lines

Install marine-grade nylon rope lines across the metal frame at equal spacing. The ropes provide attachment points for coral fragments while ensuring good water flow and reducing sediment accumulation.

Attach Coral Fragments

Healthy coral fragments are carefully attached to the nylon ropes using UV-resistant cable ties. Proper spacing between fragments reduces competition, improves water circulation, and promotes faster growth.

Coral Growth and Monitoring
